Hunting Hills Swim Team

Now starting the seventh year of coaching at Hunting Hills, Chandra Haislet is a proud member of the Hammerheads community. A parent of two former Hunting Hills swimmers, Coach H brings both experience and enthusiasm to the team. Each summer, they return to the pool eager to share their love of the water and the joy of competition with swimmers and families alike. This love of swimming has been spread to numerous Hammerheads who have become year-round, competitive swimmers with local clubs. 

Coach H has a lifelong connection to the sport, starting in the Midwest as a swimmer in age group programs, NCAA Division I, masters swimming, and triathlons. Before moving to Maryland, their coaching background included summer clinics, high school teams, and age group programs.

Rachael is a Frederick, Maryland native who spent 11 years with the Frederick County YMCA swim team, where she loved mentoring younger athletes and giving back to the program that shaped her. She continued her career at Binghamton University as a Division I swimmer, always returning to FCY during the summers to stay connected with her home team.

After stepping away from collegiate competition, she joined Maryland Masters and rediscovered her love of swimming from a new angle. Now a law student, she’s thrilled to dive back in and join the Hammerheads this summer!

A competitive swimmer and coach, Matt brings a fun, positive and engaging coaching experience to the pool. With an ongoing swimming resume that includes being a past D1 swimmer at Towson University and a current Masters swimmer, he is never found too far from a pool. From his years of experience of being a swim instructor to coaching clubs such as Meadowbrook Tomatoes, Joppatowne Tigersharks and NBAC, Matt continues to enjoy training swimmers of all levels and experience. 

As a new assistant coach of the Hunting Hills Swim Team, he is excited to be part of a great Hammerhead season! 

A parent of two former Hunting Hills swimmers and grandmother of two current swimmers, Coach DeeDee is currently in the 3rd season as Head Coach of UMBC's RAC Age Group 1, has run the RAC Pre-Trievers Stroke and Turn clinic, and taught swim lessons. She has volunteered and helped several new Hammerheads learning to swim prior to officially joining the coaching staff this year. 

Coach DeeDee believes that swimming is an important life skill and opportunity for kids to challenge themselves. Her mission is to foster a positive, encouraging environment where swimmers build confidence, master proper technique, and develop a lifelong love for aquatic fitness.
