Hammerhead Weekly Update: Week of July 13 - July 19

Hello Hammerheads! Please read this email in full for all of this week's details.

Let's recap this past jam packed week.

We kicked things off at the Andover Novice Meet, where 25 of our swimmers competed in 70 races. With perfect weather, tons of fun, and plenty of snow cones to go around, it was a great night!

Friday's Pep Rally was a hit! We made sun catchers, temporary tattoos, covered the sidewalks with chalk messages, and added lots of love to our senior posters. Plus - how fun to catch our seniors and coaches on our 2017 Hammerhead Poster??

Then we wrapped up the week with our final home meet where we were matched up with Chartridge in an out-of-division meet. We secured another win with a great overall showing from our team. During the meet, we also celebrated our incredible seniors: Abi, Morgan, and Wes and got to see how fast our coaches really can swim.

Now, onto our final week of the regular season. Let's finish strong!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:

This week's volunteer round of applause goes to:

The Scoring Table with Elena Bolling, Helen Dail, and Heather Goux.

Running the Meet Maestro software is no small feat - it requires focus, fast fingers, and the ability to decipher 500+ handwritten times. From managing entries to double & triple checking to confirm times, this crew kept things running smoothly behind the scenes. Thanks for keeping the numbers straight and the meet on track.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Pancake Breakfast:

Friday's morning practice will be a bit sweeter this week. Swimmers will enjoy a special breakfast treat to celebrate the end of the regular season at the conclusion of practice.

Huge thanks (in advance) to our amazing volunteers who help to make this fun tradition possible!

Divisionals:

The Divisionals Meet is scheduled for July 26. This is an invitational meet. More information will be shared next weekend with invited swimmers, after our final regular-season meet. Note that there is an adjusted practice schedule for the week of July 21 and is only open to Divisional Swimmers.

Awards Banquet & Spaghetti Dinner:

Look for details about the upcoming Awards Banquet (July 27) that will be shared soon.
